Use judgment openly
Waste changes boards only at whole-unit thresholds
The chart varies waste while preserving direction, row count, stock length, board width, and gap. Exact board demand rises continuously, but purchase count steps upward because boards are whole units.
Changing board direction, actual width, gap, or stock length can alter row and joint geometry more fundamentally than waste. Recalculate rather than carrying this count to another layout.
